Thom's Bio
Thom has been singing and playing the acoustic guitar professionally since 1972. Raised on Swing Jazz, he plays a purely finger style guitar and has developed a unique vocal phrasing and style in the Jazz and Blues genre. Working predominantly house gigs in British Columbia, Quebec, and Ontario, Thom worked up an eclectic repertoire. He works as a single artist and plays well with others. Hooking up with Don Erhart in Vancouver as Fretwork in 2001 was a clear case of the sum being greater than its parts. Thom brings strong melodic impressions influenced by Tom Waits, Steely Dan, Bruce Cockburn, and Joni Mitchell, Eva Cassidy among many others.
"If I don't love the tune I don't play it. The audience can always tell if you love the song or not. They should share the joy of a great tune played with passion."
